Heaven Nevaeh Bryan, 20, was driving late on Wednesday night when she committed a traffic violation near the intersection of Archwood Avenue and Academy Street in Annapolis, prompting officers to pull her over along with Dexter Deon Burnside, Jr., police say.

Once stopped, Burnside attempted to make a run for it from the passenger's seat after being instructed out of his seat, but was swiftly apprehended by responding officers and arrested without further incident.

A search of the car led to the recovery of:

  • A loaded 9mm handgun;
  • 32.79 grams of suspected Phencyclidine (PCP);
  • 8.26 grams of heroin/fentanyl;
  • 3.61 grams of crack cocaine;
  • 1.77 grams of Buprenorphine Hydrochloride.

Both Annapolis residents were charged for weapon and drug offenses. No information about an initial court appearance was announced by police.
